"In another record-breaking feat, 'Squid Game' Season 2 continues to dominate on Netflix" or "The second installment of 'Squid Game' sets another record on Netflix's viewing charts"

It wasn't certain if Squid Game season 2 could match the phenomenal viewership of the first one, but it's broken yet another record for Netflix and is well on its way to becoming an all-timer.

Netflix has just confirmed that Squid Game season 2 amassed 68 million views in its debut week, surpassing the previous record of 50.1 million views held by Wednesday. Unlike Squid Game season 1, which took time to gain momentum with its viral success, this season quickly found its feet. Before this, Squid Game made history by becoming the first Netflix series to debut at the top spot in 92 regions for the platform.

These impressive viewership figures mean that Squid Game season 2 has already secured a spot as the seventh most popular non-English Netflix series of all time. With a significant gap between it and the other shows in the top ten, it's likely to overtake them all soon. For reference, here's the top 10 all-time list, in any language:

  1. Squid Game season 1 – 2.2 billion hours viewed, 265.2 million views
  2. Stranger Things season 4 – 1.83 billion hours viewed, 140.7 million views
  3. Wednesday season 1 – 1.72 billion hours viewed, 252.1 million views
  4. Dahmer – 1.03 billion hours viewed, 115.6 million views
  5. Bridgerton season 1 – 929.3 million hours viewed, 113.3 million views
  6. Bridgerton season 3 – 846.5 million hours viewed, 106 million views
  7. The Night Agent season 1 – 803.2 million hours viewed, 98 million views
  8. The Queen’s Gambit – 746.4 million hours viewed, 112.8 million views
  9. Money Heist: Part 4 – 710.2 million hours viewed, 106 million views
  10. Fool Me Once – 629 million hours viewed, 98.2 million views

With 68 million views in its first week, Squid Game season 2 is 30 million away from cracking the all-time top 10 list, and it's likely to land in the 6th-7th position in the next week.

There's more news on Squid Game, which I'll cover in separate updates. In the meantime, expect rumors about a potential release date for season 3 and a possible US A-lister joining the cast for a cameo. But remember, these are just rumors until officially confirmed. Stay tuned for more updates and keep an eye on these viewership numbers.

Netflix has announced that enthusiastic responses continue for Squid Game season 2, with the show expected to surpass more records and potentially enter the top 6 of the all-time most-viewed Netflix series, given its current viewership trajectory.

Given the success of Squid Game season 2, speculations about a potential Squid Game season 3 release and the possible inclusion of a notable American actor in the cast for a guest role have begun to circulate among fans, although these are still unconfirmed rumors.
