Initial Discovery in Clair Obscur: Overlooked Patch from Expedition 33 Unearths Unexpected Sword Effect

Title: Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Patch 33P Fixes and Nerfs

The creators of Clair Obscur have unleashed Patch 1.2.3, and it's time to say goodbye to the 2-billion-damage build! After killing Stendahl's juice and a secondary surprise toning-down of Medalum, Maelle's damage comes down a notch.

Forget about the substantial alterations – this patch is fairly minor, focusing on fixing issues with ultrawide support and mouse and keyboard controls (though, they're hesitant to recommend these for adventurers who parry with their mouse buttons – those folks, we fear them).

No need to wander around in circles anymore! The world map's geometry has been reduced to help you navigate better, whether on foot or astride Esquie, everybody's favorite pee/poop queen. Moreover, some softlocks have been zapped, preventing your party from permanently banishing half of them to the shadow realm.

Brace yourself for weapon changes and balance tuning. Both Lune's Lithelim and Sciel's Blizzon have had their attribute scalings set straight, but the real eye-catchers are the tweaks to Maelle's sword (Medalum) and, in particular, her big nuke (Stendahl).

Stendahl experiences a 40% damage reduction, while Medalum's max-level perk, that doubled burn damage during Virtuose Stance, is now only doubling burn damage – a proper fix rather than a nerf.

Confession time: I thought these changes were terrible; however, I've come around since single-player games aren't meant for running over every endgame challenge with a shank-wielding 16-year-old. Besides, I beat Simon without Stendahl, so now everyone can suffer the same way I did. Join me in a 16-minute knockout brawl with over 190 parries, just as the Paintress intended.
