The Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, Xpeng, is set to launch its latest creation – the P7 – a sleek electric sports sedan-coupe that exudes a commanding road presence with its nearly 5-meter-long body and futuristic design. The vehicle, designed by French designer Rafik Ferrag, boasts a blend of flat surfaces, sculpted fenders, and streamlined shapes, making it a standout in the electric vehicle market.
The P7's exterior showcases thin LED light strips, hidden headlights, and scissor doors, all of which contribute to its "cyberpunk" aesthetic. The signature taillights further enhance this aesthetic, while the vehicle's use of turquoise "smart driving" lights on the side mirrors and above the rear license plate adds a touch of innovation and safety.
Under the hood, the P7 promises advanced autonomous driving capabilities and a modern electric drivetrain. While specific powertrain details are not yet available, the focus on AI and smart technology suggests a sports sedan with impressive performance.
In terms of pricing, the new P7 is expected to launch in the third quarter of 2025 with a starting price around RMB 300,000, approximately $41,650 USD. This price point, slightly above the current P7's starting price of 186,800 yuan (26,000 USD), positions the P7 as a competitive option in the electric vehicle market.
The P7 will offer battery options of 74.9 kWh and 92.2 kWh, delivering CLTC ranges of 625km and 820km, respectively. The vehicle will also be equipped with Xpeng's Turing AI chip, which powers a vision-based driver assistance system that supports NGP (Navigation Guided Pilot) functionality for both highway and urban environments.
Inside, the cabin adopts Xpeng's latest interior design language, featuring a flat-bottomed steering wheel and a large floating centre display. The P7 also comes with optional features such as scissor doors, active aerodynamic elements, and three different wheel styles with orange brake callipers.
The new P7 will make its official debut on August 6, 2025. With its cyberpunk design, smart autonomous lighting features, and competitive pricing, the P7 is poised to make a significant impact in the Chinese and potentially global EV market.
Meanwhile, Xpeng's other model, the Mona M03, has achieved impressive sales figures, with cumulative deliveries of 150,000 units in just 10 months. This success underscores Xpeng's growing presence in the electric vehicle industry and its commitment to delivering high-quality, innovative vehicles to consumers.
