InstaVolt Launches Off-Peak EV Charging Scheme: Save 33% Overnight
InstaVolt, the UK's leading provider of electric vehicle (EV) rapid charging stations, has announced a new off-peak pricing scheme. The company, known for its user-friendly, contactless chargers and 'roaming' capabilities, is now offering a reduced rate of 54p per kWh between 10pm and 6am.
The new pricing scheme is initially available to InstaVolt App users and will be extended to contactless users by the end of the year. This move is part of InstaVolt's wider strategy to install 11,000 ultra-rapid chargers in the UK and Ireland by 2030, with plans to expand to Spain, Portugal, and Iceland, totalling 16,300 chargers.
The off-peak rate is more than a third off the regular price of 85p per kWh. InstaVolt aims to introduce additional time-of-day and regional pricing solutions in the future, further incentivising off-peak charging and helping to manage grid demand.
InstaVolt's off-peak pricing scheme is a significant step towards encouraging more sustainable and cost-effective EV charging. By offering lower rates during off-peak hours, the company is not only helping EV owners save money but also promoting a more balanced use of the grid. This initiative aligns with InstaVolt's broader goal of expanding its charging network across the UK, Ireland, and Europe.
