Jetour Shanhai L7 Plus: A Luxury Plug-in Hybrid SUV Set to Make a Splash

The Jetour brand has announced the upcoming release of the Shanhai L7 Plus, a larger and more premium version of the popular Shanhai L7. This new SUV promises to deliver an exceptional blend of power, technology, and luxury, positioning itself as a formidable competitor in the luxury plug-in hybrid SUV segment.

The Shanhai L7 Plus boasts a fresh exterior design, with new headlight, taillight, and semi-hidden door handle arrangements setting it apart from its predecessor. The SUV measures 4810mm in length, 1930mm in width, and 1705mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2820mm, making it a mid-size offering. Compared to the Shanhai L7, the Plus model is 61mm longer, 30mm wider, and 15mm shorter, with a 75mm longer wheelbase.

Under the hood, the Shanhai L7 Plus houses a powerful 1.5-liter turbocharged inline-four engine and an electric motor, powered by Chery's Kunpeng plug-in hybrid system. This combination delivers a total output of approximately 355 hp (265 kW). The SUV offers a top speed of around 180 km/h and boasts impressive driving range capabilities, thanks to a battery capacity of around 26.7 kWh that supports pure electric driving and enables low combined fuel consumption of about 1.08 L/100km.

Inside, the Shanhai L7 Plus offers a spacious and technologically advanced cabin. The SUV is equipped with a 15.6-inch floating central control screen that can rotate, along with a 12.8-inch central console and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. The interior adopts a dual-color design, and the seats, which support electric adjustment, are likely to offer ventilated and heated options in the Plus version.

The Shanhai L7 Plus also boasts an array of connectivity features, including 4G connectivity, CarPlay, Huawei HiCar, and advanced driver assistance systems expected in the luxury segment. Sound system upgrades are available, with options up to 16 speakers on higher trims.

Safety is a top priority, with the SUV featuring standard airbags for driver and passenger, LED low and high beam headlights, electronic gear lever shift, and electric power steering. Additional features include ambient lighting, additional storage space under the center console, cupholders, wireless charging pads, 12 speakers, a refrigerator, and an AI voice assistant.

The Shanhai L7 Plus can accommodate seven passengers and offers a spacious trunk of 658 L that expands to 1708 L when the third-row seats are folded down. The SUV also comes with a three-spoke flat-bottom multi-function steering wheel.

Official images of the Shanhai L7 Plus were released on July 24, and the SUV is expected to enter the market in the second half of August. The price range for the Shanhai L7, its predecessor, is 129,800 to 159,800 yuan (18,500 to 22,800 USD).
