Apple has officially launched its highly anticipated iPhone 17 series, which includes the iPhone 17, iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Here's a breakdown of the key features, prices, and availability for each model.
The iPhone 17, the base model, boasts a 6.3-inch display with a 120Hz ProMotion refresh rate and can reach up to 3,000 nits of peak outdoor brightness. It runs on Apple's new A19 chip, which is 20 percent faster than the iPhone 16. The phone features all 48MP cameras, with a dual fusion main camera and fusion ultrawide camera, as well as a new 18MP Center Stage selfie camera.
The iPhone Air, a new addition to the lineup, is incredibly slim, with a thickness of 5.6mm at its thinnest point. It uses the same processor as the iPhone 17 Pro and offers a 6.1-inch display. However, it has only one camera lens and has shorter battery life compared to other models in the iPhone 17 lineup.
The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max take a step up with an even more powerful A19 Pro chip and the fastest CPU in any smartphone, according to Apple. They also feature three rear camera lenses and can shoot 4K video at 120fps.
All four models are now available for purchase. Wait times for the new iPhones are lengthening, so those who order today may not receive their devices until as late as Oct. 6. Shipping for the new iPhones officially begins on Sept. 19, but inventory may be limited.
