Istanbul ascends as the globe's premier maintenance hub, thanks to Turkish Technic's efforts
Turkish Technic and Rolls-Royce Partner to Establish a State-of-the-Art Engine Maintenance Center
Turkish Technic and Rolls-Royce have joined forces to create a cutting-edge engine maintenance center at Istanbul Airport. By the end of 2027, this facility will be part of Rolls-Royce's global Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) network, capable of performing up to 200 complex engine overhauls annually.
The strategic location of the new engine maintenance center at Istanbul Airport offers a significant advantage for global aviation logistics. Situated between Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, the center will play a crucial role in streamlining maintenance operations for airlines operating in these regions.
Rob Watson, President of Rolls-Royce Civil Aerospace, praised Turkish Technic as a reliable and potential world-class MRO provider. The partnership is seen as a significant boost for Turkish Technic's ambition to become a world-class MRO provider, further solidifying Turkey's role in the global aviation industry.
Under the partnership, Turkish Technic will become a Center of Excellence for Rolls-Royce engines, specifically supporting the Trent XWB-97, Trent XWB-84, and Trent 7000 models. This will enable Turkish Technic to expand its portfolio with cutting-edge Rolls-Royce engines, positioning itself as a significant player in the global engine maintenance market.
Turkish Technic will support Trent engines used in Airbus A350 and A330neo fleets, both for Turkish Airlines' fleet and international customers under the Rolls-Royce TotalCare program. This collaboration will not only strengthen the local aviation industry but also create high-quality jobs and foster the development of national supply chains and technical training.
Local companies involved in the project include Turkish Technic and Rolls-Royce, with participation from regional aerospace suppliers and engineering firms. The project is expected to boost national sectors such as aerospace manufacturing, engineering services, and high-tech maintenance industries.

The partnership between Turkish Technic and Rolls-Royce is a significant milestone in Rolls-Royce's long-term strategy to increase global engine maintenance capacities by 2030. The new engine maintenance center aims to enhance infrastructure and strengthen the local aviation industry, contributing to Turkey's position as a hub of innovation and services in aviation technology.
