Isuzu reveals UK pricing for its electric D-Max EV pickup truck model

The Isuzu D-Max EV, Europe's first battery-powered professional pickup, is set to revolutionise the industry with its robust design and commercial-grade capabilities. With deliveries scheduled to begin in February 2026, this electric powerhouse promises to cater to both commercial and private buyers seeking electric power without compromising on traditional pickup utility.

Priced at approximately £59,995 (ex-VAT) for the base eDL40 trim and £62,495 ex-VAT for the top-range eV-Cross, the D-Max EV offers a range of about 163 miles (263 km) on a single charge, powered by a 66.9 kWh battery pack.

Key features include dual electric motors producing a combined 188 hp (140 kW) and 325 Nm torque, full four-wheel drive with permanent AWD via an e-Axle system, a towing capacity of 3.5 tonnes (7,700 lbs), a payload of 1 tonne (1,000 kg), and tough off-road specs such as a 210 mm ground clearance, 600 mm wading depth, and approach/departure angles of approximately 30.5° and 24.2°, respectively.

The D-Max EV will be available in different trims, including the eDL40 base and eV-Cross higher trims, with body styles including Extended Cab and Double Cab. The eDL40 trim comes standard with bi-LED headlights, front and rear parking sensors, leather upholstery, heated front seats, an 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen, and a Rough Terrain Mode. The eV-Cross, on the other hand, boasts grey exterior trim, a larger 9.0-inch infotainment screen, an automatically dimming rear-view mirror, and an eight-speaker audio system.

All versions of the D-Max EV use a dual-motor setup, generating a combined total of 188hp and 240lb ft of torque. The D-Max EV's exterior trim colour varies depending on the trim level, with chrome-effect trim on the eDL40 and grey trim on the eV-Cross.

The D-Max EV shares the same robust ladder frame chassis as the diesel-powered D-Max, ensuring durability and reliability. Aimed at commercial fleet users, demonstration examples of the D-Max EV will be made available before the first customer deliveries in March 2026.

While the charging speed and acceleration of the D-Max EV are not specified in the article, it is known that the vehicle can carry a one-tonne payload and tow 3.5 tonnes. The D-Max EV's 66.9kWh lithium-ion battery gives it a range of 163 miles when fully charged, and a charging speed of up to 50kW means replenishing the battery from 10 to 80 percent could take one hour.

The D-Max EV's top speed is said to exceed 80mph, making it a viable option for both work and leisure. With its rugged design, commercial-grade capabilities, and zero-emission electric drive, the Isuzu D-Max EV is set to redefine the pickup truck market in Europe.
