The Nintendo Switch Sports game has received a new update, introducing Basketball as a playable sport. Alongside Basketball, players can now enjoy Golf, Soccer, Volleyball, Bowling, Tennis, Badminton, and Chambara (swordplay).

To access the update, players need to highlight the game icon from the HOME Menu, press the + Button, and select Software Update (requiring an internet connection).

Internet access is essential for online features, which also necessitate a Nintendo Switch Online membership (sold separately) and a Nintendo Account.

While the update offers various game modes, including Two-on-Two, Three-Point Challenge, and Five-Streak Battle, there is no authoritative information describing how to access or play a Three-Point Contest multiplayer mode in Nintendo Switch Sports Basketball.

Recent basketball-related Nintendo Switch releases feature a new game called Drag x Drive, focusing on 3-on-3 wheelchair basketball with advanced motion controls, tricks, and multiplayer options. However, this is a separate title from Nintendo Switch Sports and does not mention a Three-Point Contest mode.

For authentic instructions, checking the official Nintendo website, the in-game menu, or the latest update patch notes would be advisable.

In the meantime, players can engage in the Five-Streak Battle game mode, where the first player to make five consecutive baskets in 60 seconds wins. Soccer gameplay requires the Leg Strap accessory, sold separately.

The new update also includes the Two-on-Two game mode, which is available for single player and local/online multiplayer. Additional accessories may be required for multiplayer mode, sold separately.

Family and friends can join in on the fun either on the same system or online. The controls are intuitive, allowing for easy gameplay.

Terms apply for Nintendo Switch Online membership auto-renewal, and more information can be found on the Nintendo Switch Online website.
