Kenyan Agri-Tech Venture Studio Pyramidia Secures $1.5M for Climate-Focused Startups
Pyramidia Ventures, a Kenyan agri-tech venture studio, has secured US$1.5 million in funding. The investment, led by Dutch impact investor Triple Jump, will support Pyramidia's mission to build and scale climate-focused startups in Africa's agri-food sector.
The funding, totalling US$1.5 million, includes US$1.3 million for direct investment and US$200,000 for technical assistance and business development support. Pyramidia Ventures aims to use this capital to expand its model of creating a pipeline of investable companies that enhance Africa's agri-food systems' resilience and reduce their carbon footprint.
Pyramidia has already produced several successful ventures, including Stable Foods, Womega, and Afriprotein. These startups demonstrate Pyramidia's ability to identify and nurture innovative solutions that address the continent's agri-food challenges while mitigating climate change.
With the new funding, Pyramidia Ventures is well-positioned to continue its mission of fostering climate-resilient and low-carbon agri-food systems in Africa. The investment from Triple Jump underscores the growing interest in impact investing and the potential of agri-tech ventures to drive sustainable development.
