Kyndryl and Microsoft join forces to empower AI in healthcare sector
In a groundbreaking move, Kyndryl, a leading IT infrastructure services provider, has partnered with Microsoft to introduce Dragon Copilot, an AI-powered healthcare assistant. This partnership aims to revolutionise clinical workflows and enhance patient care by automating administrative tasks and streamlining processes.
The collaboration leverages advanced AI technologies such as generative AI, dictation, ambient listening, and natural language processing. Dragon Copilot is designed to automate clinical documentation, freeing up healthcare professionals to focus more on patient care and less on administrative tasks.
One of the key benefits of Dragon Copilot is its ability to simplify administrative processes, leading to faster and more efficient clinical workflows. The integration of ambient listening and voice-activated tools like Dragon Medical One and DAX Copilot allows for real-time capture and editing of clinical information, reducing the burden on healthcare staff.
By automating repetitive tasks, Dragon Copilot enables healthcare professionals to spend more time interacting with patients, improving the quality of care. The use of AI in clinical documentation also ensures increased accuracy and speed, ensuring that patient information is handled more effectively.
Trent Sanders, the vice president for United States (U.S.) healthcare and life sciences at Kyndryl, stated that this partnership is a significant milestone in Kyndryl's commitment to optimising clinical workflows and improving patient care by deploying mission-critical AI technology.
Kyndryl will provide comprehensive support and implementation services to help healthcare organisations integrate Dragon Copilot into their existing workflows. The implementation of Dragon Copilot by Kyndryl is scheduled to begin in May 2025.
Patty Carrolo, the CVP of US health and life sciences at Microsoft, expressed her excitement about the collaboration, stating that Kyndryl's services capability combined with Microsoft's AI-enabled solutions will deliver innovative solutions that improve patient and member experiences while optimising healthcare operations.
Dragon Copilot prioritises the security, safety, and privacy of patient data as part of Microsoft Cloud for Healthcare. The solution will be available as a solution from Kyndryl starting in May 2025.
