Lörrach Hospitals' Digital System Temporarily Disrupted, Emergency Cases Diverted
Lörrach's district hospitals faced a temporary digital disruption on Saturday, with all emergency cases redirected and only births accepted during the xfinity outage. The issue was resolved by evening.
The digital infrastructure of the hospitals in Lörrach went down on Saturday, leading to the diversion of all emergency cases to other hospitals. Only births were still being accepted during the power outage. The cause of the disruption was an overheating of the server system due to an air conditioning failure overnight. The department responsible for the IT infrastructure failure was the infrastructure management linked to the server system's cooling. Despite the disruption, there was no danger for in-patients.
The disruption was fully resolved by evening, with the emergency department and all other areas of the hospitals operational again. The cause of the outage was identified and addressed, ensuring the safety and care of all patients.
