Marvel Temporarily Halts Costly MCU Series Prior to Debut of 'Daredevil: Rebirth'
Marvel's scaling back on Disney Plus MCU shows seems to have halted the development of three Potential series - Nova, Strange Academy, and Terror Inc., although they haven't received official greenlights yet. These shows were likely put on hold due to Marvel's focus on more budget-friendly, street-level content following the success of Agatha All Along.
Nova, a space-faring intergalactic peacekeeper in the vein of DC's Green Lantern, could be highly expensive given the use of VFX to render its intergalactic locations. As for Strange Academy, a magic-focused series with considerable VFX for magical elements, the cost might also be high. Terror Inc., a show about an entity that absorbs powers, might be the most obscure character Marvel has considered so far, which might be why it was put on hold.
Marvel seems to be revisiting its Netflix-era street-level offerings, starting with Daredevil: Born Again and then possibly Echo. Daredevil: Born Again has two full seasons greenlit, with the second in production as the first is about to air. There's talk of other Netflix-era characters returning, including Frank Castle and Jessica Jones. Fans hope for a Heroes for Hire show starring Luke Cage and Iron Fist.

While Marvel has paused some projects, others like Ironheart, Wonder Man, and Vision Quest are still moving forward. The shows that were already in the works before Marvel decided to scale back are more likely to make it to the finish line.

Despite the pause in development, the potential '35baa80e6c439b64540d074fa5593c8a' series like Nova, Strange Academy, and Terror Inc., could still be the cheapest options if Marvel decides to revive them. Given their focus on budget-friendly, street-level content, projects like DNL's Daredevil: Born Again and potential returns of other Netflix-era characters like Frank Castle and Jessica Jones, could pose higher financial risks due to their complex visual effects requirements. Interestingly, projects already in progress, such as Ironheart, Wonder Man, and Vision Quest, are still on track to completion, showing that Marvel's scaling back is targeted towards specific projects.
