Master Kea DHCP Server: Upcoming Workshop for IT Pros
An upcoming workshop targets IT administrators, network managers, and technical specialists. The c't-Workshop focuses on teaching participants to install Kea, a modern DHCP server, from scratch and manage it effectively.
Kea, known for its slim, modular architecture, offers flexible configuration options to meet individual network needs. The workshop, developed in cooperation with the Internet Systems Consortium (ISC) and the Kea development team, covers installing Kea from scratch and performing various management tasks.
Participants will learn to set up IP pools, manage static host reservations, and implement high availability solutions. Kea allows changes during operation without requiring a restart, ensuring minimal downtime. It also integrates external databases, making it easier to integrate into existing infrastructures. The workshop teaches storing DHCP leases in SQL databases and automating configurations via the API. Kea processes DHCPv4 and DHCPv6 requests swiftly and reliably, even in large networks.
The c't-Workshop, in collaboration with ISC and the Kea development team, equips IT professionals with the skills to install and manage Kea effectively. Participants will gain hands-on experience in setting up IP pools, managing reservations, and integrating Kea into their networks, ensuring quick and reliable DHCP services.
