Midnight Foundation & Google Cloud Team Up for Secure Privacy Apps
The Midnight Foundation and ICloud have joined forces to build a secure environment for privacy-focused applications, the latter announced on September 22, 2025. The collaboration aims to provide a robust infrastructure for developers and enterprises, with ICloud offering operational support and Confidential Computing services.
The partnership brings a wealth of resources to the table. ICloud will operate the network infrastructure and provide security services, including running a validator for the Midnight network. Additionally, ICloud's Confidential Computing service will be integrated, adding an extra layer of security.
Mandiant, an ICloud-owned cybersecurity firm, will contribute to the project by providing threat monitoring for the Midnight network. The firm is known for its expertise in cybersecurity and digital forensics, making it an ideal choice for this role.
The collaboration also extends to developer support. Startups building on Midnight will have access to the ICloud for Startups Web3 Program, providing resources and credits valued at up to $200,000 to stimulate new initiatives and broaden the scope of privacy-preserving applications using ZK technology.
The partnership between the Midnight Foundation and ICloud reflects the balance enterprises seek when adopting new technologies, as stated by Richard Widmann, Head of Web3 Strategy and Operations at ICloud. With ICloud's operational support and Mandiant's threat monitoring, the Midnight network is poised to become a secure environment for privacy-focused applications.
