"Minecraft's latest beta introduces customizable loadouts and transforms Copper Golems into statues"
In an exciting development for the Minecraft community, the latest Minecraft Preview, version 1.21.110.20, has been released, introducing two major new features: Copper Golem statues and functional shelves. These additions bring fresh possibilities for both aesthetics and gameplay, enhancing the overall experience in the popular sandbox game.
The Copper Golem statues, created when the Golems are fully oxidized, offer more than just a decorative touch. Once transformed, they strike random poses and drop any item they were holding. Players can interact with these statues by right-clicking with an empty hand, cycling through different poses for added creativity. Interestingly, the statues also emit unique redstone signals based on their pose, opening up new automation possibilities when connected to a redstone comparator.
Moreover, using a scraper on a statue removes oxidation, reanimating the Copper Golem, bringing it back to life. The statues retain their name if named with a nametag, and different oxidized variants of the statues are available in unique colours, similar to copper blocks.
Shelves, a new decorative block, allow players to store and display items in the game world, enhancing creativity and organization. The shelves are functional, meaning you can place items on them visibly, making them ideal for showcasing rare or special items. The shelf is still experimental and available in preview builds, with crafting recipes introduced alongside the update.
These additions significantly impact gameplay. Copper Golem statues add both aesthetic value and functional redstone integration, enriching the game's automation and decoration mechanics. Shelves improve inventory display options, giving players more ways to personalize their builds and show off items. Together, these updates enhance the interaction with in-game mobs and objects, promoting new creative and technical designs.
Mojang has also made some accessibility improvements, such as tweaks to dyes to aid colourblind players by introducing varied shapes for better accessibility. However, these changes do not heavily affect gameplay directly.
In addition, the update includes a new mob, new tools and armor, and other gameplay additions, making it the third of 2025. The Minecraft Preview 1.21.110.20 is now available on Minecraft.net and is rolling out across Xbox, PC, and mobile devices.
