Namibia Expands Electronic Visa Scheme to 126 Countries
Namibia has expanded its electronic visa scheme, making it easier for travelers from 126 countries and territories to visit. The new system, launched on March 3, 2025, allows visitors to apply online before or upon arrival, streamlining the entry process.
Previously, only 90 countries could apply for an electronic visa. From April 2025, an additional 36 countries will be included, bringing the total to 126. This includes nations like Spain, France, Canada, the UK, and the USA, which can already apply online until March 31, 2025.
The electronic visa costs 1,600 N$ (approximately 82 € / 87 USD) for non-African nationals and 1,200 N$ (approximately 62 € / 65 USD) for African nationals. Upon arrival, travelers must present their passport, electronic visa printout, and other necessary documents. These include proof of sufficient funds, accommodation confirmation, round-trip airline ticket, medical/travel insurance, and full birth certificate (or parental authorization letter) if traveling with children.
Holders of an authorized electronic visa can use 12 entry points to Namibia. Starting April 1, 2025, travelers from 33 countries affected by Namibia's visa requirement reinstatement must apply for an electronic visa, a visa at a Namibian diplomatic representation, or a visa on arrival.
The new electronic visa system aims to simplify travel to Namibia, reducing wait times and enhancing the visitor experience. With the expansion of eligible countries, more people can now explore Namibia's diverse landscapes and rich culture with ease.
