Neo4j 5 Now Available: Automated Scaling & Faster Queries
Neo4j, a leading graph database provider, has announced the general availability of Neo4j 5. This is the fifth major version, following Neo4j 1 through 4. The new release promises significant improvements in performance and scalability.
Neo4j 5 introduces automated scale-out, allowing users to seamlessly expand their database infrastructure across hundreds of machines with minimal manual effort. This not only reduces infrastructure costs but also simplifies database management.
The new version also boasts a substantial improvement in query performance. Neo4j claims queries can run up to 1000 times faster than in Neo4j 4, thanks to an enhanced query language.
Real-world results are already evident. Both Adobe and devRant have reported significant performance improvements and reduced infrastructure costs after switching to Neo4j 5.
Neo4j 5, now generally available, brings automated scaling, faster queries, and improved management tools. It also ensures compatibility between self-managed and Aura workloads with continuous updates across all deployments.
