Nio & BYD's 2025 EV Revolution: 600-1000km Range on Yiwei's DI Platform
Nio and BYD are set to revolutionize the electric vehicle news with a new model based on Yiwei's second-generation, all-electric DI platform. The car, slated for mass production in 2025, promises an impressive range of 600 km to 1000 km.
The model will feature a 150-kWh semi-solid-state battery pack, announced by Nio in January 2021 and set to be in service from late April. This advanced battery technology has already proven its capability, with Nio achieving a real-world range of up to 1,070 kilometers using the same pack.
The collaboration between Nio and Yiwei, which launched its new brand on April 12, 2023, is a significant step in the development of electric vehicle news. WeLion, another key player, signed a strategic cooperation agreement with JAC Yiwei on April 22, 2024. WeLion has already delivered the first batch of 3695 large cylindrical semi-solid state battery cells to Nio on June 30, 2023.
BYD will take over the mass production of this innovative electric car, equipped with the advanced 4695 large cylindrical semi-liquid battery cells. With a range of 600 km to 1000 km, this model is poised to set new standards in the electric vehicle news when it begins mass production in 2025.
