NVIDIA introduces Blackwell to the cloud and unveils the significant enhancement of GeForce Now at Gamescom 2025, marking a major step in cloud gaming technology.

NVIDIA has announced a series of exciting updates and partnerships aimed at enhancing the gaming experience for players worldwide. Here's a roundup of the most significant announcements.

The highly anticipated RTX 5080 GPU is set to hit the market, offering a significant boost in performance. With 48 GB of VRAM and 56 TFLOPS of compute power, the RTX 5080 is poised to deliver a smoother, more immersive gaming experience. The upgrade will not only be available for desktop-class streaming but also for devices like the Steam Deck and Lenovo's Legion Go S.

NVIDIA's GeForce Now service is also set for an upgrade. The new "Install to Play" feature will effectively double the number of Steam games available on the service. Additionally, the service will welcome several major titles, including Borderlands 4, Dying Light: The Beast, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, at their launch.

In terms of exclusive technologies, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will be the first title to feature RTX Hair, a Blackwell-exclusive rendering technology. NVIDIA's ACE technology will debut in The Oversight Bureau, a voice-driven puzzle game from Iconic Interactive.

NVIDIA is also working on improving the overall gaming experience by reducing latency. This has been achieved through a combination of hardware improvements and industry-wide changes, including RiverMax hardware packet pacing, support for Low Latency, Low Loss Scalable throughput (L4S), and new Reflex modes.

Gamers and creators will also benefit from the major update to G-Assist, NVIDIA's AI assistant. The update, scheduled for 19 August, will use 40 percent less VRAM and introduce a more intelligent tool-calling system.

The RTX Remix modding platform, showcased at Gamescom 2025, will now support a new particle system. This allows creators to add path-traced particles that interact with lighting, reflections, and geometry in supported titles. However, NVIDIA did not announce any partner companies for the RTX Remix platform during the event.

Lastly, NVIDIA is introducing Cinematic Quality Streaming (CQS) to enhance image quality and reduce latency. The company also plans to expand the list of optimised games, supported devices, and available features through the final quarter of 2025.

In a move to simplify the gaming experience, a new integration between Discord, Epic, and NVIDIA will allow players to join friends in Fortnite directly from Discord without downloading or installing the game locally. The NVIDIA app will also allow users to browse, download, and install G-Assist plugins directly within the app.

With these updates and partnerships, NVIDIA is undoubtedly setting the stage for an exciting future in the gaming industry. The RTX 5080 upgrade for GeForce Now will start rolling out in September, with no change to Ultimate membership pricing. Stay tuned for more updates from NVIDIA!
