Ola's Giant Scooter Plant in Tamil Nadu to Create 10,000 Jobs, Produce 2 Million Units Annually
Ola, a leading electric vehicle manufacturer, is set to establish its largest scooter production plant in Tamil Nadu, India. Partnering with Siemens, this facility promises to generate nearly 10,000 jobs and boast an initial capacity of two million units annually, making it the world's largest scooter manufacturing plant.
Spanning across multiple continents, the factory will serve as Ola's global manufacturing hub, catering to customers in India and key markets such as Europe, the UK, Latin America, and ANZ. To ensure streamlined production, the plant will deploy almost 5,000 robots across various functions. In a bid to optimise operations, Ola will leverage Siemens' integrated Digital Twin design and manufacturing solutions. This technology enables digitalisation and validation of products and production processes before actual operations commence.
The upcoming Ola electric vehicle manufacturing facility, a result of the collaboration with Siemens, is poised to revolutionise scooter production. With its immense capacity, advanced technology, and global reach, this plant is set to significantly contribute to Ola's mission of accelerating electric mobility worldwide.
