Power Giant Reports Strong Cash Generation, Order Surge in Q1 FY26

A leading power transmission and distribution company has reported strong operating cash generation and a significant increase in orders, driven by large project wins and improved operational efficiency. Revenue grew by 15.3% year-on-year (YoY), with the transmission segment leading the order book.

The company's expansion was boosted by a CAD 270 million investment from Hydro-Québec to increase large transformer manufacturing capacity in Varennes, Québec. Key orders included the Bhadla-Fatehpur HVDC link and a bulk order from POWERGRID for 30 units of 765-kilovolt (kV) 500 megavolt-ampere (MVA) single-phase transformers. Exports contributed 24.7% to orders in the first quarter of FY26, excluding HVDC orders.

Service orders grew by 91% YoY, with notable contracts such as SCADA upgrades, equipment replacement, and annual maintenance contracts. The company's order backlog reached a record high of INR 29,125.3 crore.

The company maintained a double-digit operating earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortization (Op EBITDA) margin of 11.1%, and profit after tax (PAT) increased significantly YoY. With a strong focus on effective order execution and operational efficiency, the company's robust performance is set to continue.
