New Battery Test Center Opens in Lausitz, Brandenburg
The automotive and supplier industry now has a new resource for testing the safety and reliability of their battery modules, as Dekra's Battery Test Center officially opened its doors in Klettwitz, southern Brandenburg on Monday.
Brandenburg's Minister President Dietmar Woidke was in attendance at the inauguration, joining Guido Kutschera, Executive Vice President for the Dekra business in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria, to mark the occasion.
Located at the Lausitzring, the Battery Test Center offers a comprehensive range of services under one roof, making it a crucial success factor in the industry. Dekra has invested a two-digit million amount in the new location, ensuring it is equipped to handle even the most extreme conditions.
The center caters to customers from the automotive industry and its suppliers, with drop and fire tests among the services offered to ensure the secure and reliable performance of electric vehicle batteries.
Kutschera stated that the Battery Test Center is an essential building block for Dekra's services for the mobility of the future. Woidke added that the center strengthens the innovation region Lausitz, and is expected to create up to 40 jobs.
Secure and reliable battery technologies are considered a future industry for strengthening the value chains of electric mobility in Brandenburg, and the Battery Test Center is not just located anywhere in the world, but in the Lausitz.
Dekra currently employs around 290 people at the growing location at the Lausitzring, and the company is committed to contributing to the region's economic development. Manufacturers can also have their battery modules tested under extreme conditions at the new center, providing peace of mind for those entering the electric vehicle market.
