Qualys Launches CSAM 2.0 for Real-Time External Attack Surface Management

Qualys has introduced a new version of its CyberSecurity Asset Management (CSAM) platform, integrating External Attack Surface Management (EASM). This comes as businesses struggle with dynamic, ever-changing attack surfaces and the rise of 'Shadow IT'.

The modern digital landscape sees assets constantly appearing and disappearing online, with configurations shifting to meet business needs. Many of these assets surface unintentionally, leaving organizations blind to potential security risks.

Qualys' CSAM 2.0 with EASM aims to address this challenge. It enables cybersecurity teams to identify all internet-facing assets, including those previously unknown, and monitor them in real-time. The platform offers automatic discovery, attribution, business context, continuous risk assessment, and real-time visibility.

Unlike standalone external attack surface monitoring solutions, Qualys' offering provides inside-out security and configuration context for assets. It goes beyond static spreadsheets and CMDBs, which lack real-time updates, to provide a dynamic, up-to-date view of the attack surface.

With CSAM 2.0, Qualys offers a comprehensive solution for managing and mitigating risks from the external attack surface. By providing real-time visibility and continuous assessment, it helps organizations stay ahead of potential threats in an ever-evolving digital landscape.
