Radiant Gang Leaks 8,000 Children's Data in Kido Schools Breach

Cybercriminal gang 'Radiant' has been linked to a recent data breach at Kido Schools, a global education provider. The gang gained unauthorized access to the school's systems and published sensitive information of around 8,000 children on the dark web, demanding a ransom of approximately 110,000 euros in Bitcoin.

The Radiant gang did not directly infiltrate Kido Schools' systems but acquired access from another cybercriminal. Once inside, they published profiles of individual children, putting pressure on parents to pay the ransom. The gang initially blurred the stolen photos but later claimed to have deleted all data following public outrage. Cybersecurity expert Jen Ellis believes the gang ended their extortion attempt to protect their brand, not for moral reasons.

The cyberattack only affected UK facilities of Kido Schools, which operates nurseries in the UK, USA, and India. London police have launched an investigation into the incident, but it is still in its early stages. It remains unclear if the stolen data has been truly deleted, and Kido Schools has not confirmed whether they paid the ransom.

The Radiant gang's cyberattack on Kido Schools has raised serious concerns about data security in educational institutions. While the gang claims to have deleted the stolen data, the investigation is ongoing, and parents remain worried about the safety of their children's personal information.
