Remastered adaptation of Solstice's 1984 debut album, Silent Dance, to be re-released.
The wait is over for fans of progressive rock band Solstice, as the pre-order for the vinyl and CD versions of their remastered debut album Silent Dance is now available. This marks the first release through Solstice's own label, Clann.
Originally released in 1984, Silent Dance was the only album by the band during their initial phase between 1980 and 1985. The album features the band's signature song, Peace, and Cheyenne, which are still performed in live sets.
The remastered version of Silent Dance will include three full-length remixes by renowned musician Steven Wilson. The vinyl version, released through Wild Thyme Records, will be in the original gatefold sleeve. The CD version will offer the same remixes.
Andy Glass, the guitarist and bandleader of Solstice, admits he was initially ambivalent about Silent Dance, but found the remastered version to be a revelation. "The remastering process has brought out so much more depth and clarity in the music," Glass said. "I'm thrilled to share this updated version with our fans."
The band's lineup for Silent Dance included Sandy Leigh on vocals, Marc Elton on violin and keyboards, Mark Hawkins on bass, Martin Wright on drums, and Andy Glass on guitar and leadership.
Morning Light, an additional track from the same era, was included in the Definitive Edition CD reissue of Silent Dance in 2009. This track will also be part of the remastered version.
The release of Silent Dance in 2024 is a significant moment for Solstice, as it marks the return of a classic album for fans and a new beginning for the band with their own label, Clann.
Pre-order your copy of Silent Dance today and be a part of this exciting chapter in Solstice's history. Whether you're a long-time fan or new to the band, this remastered album promises to deliver a fresh and captivating listening experience.
