Revamped Digital Oasis: Vector IT Campus Baunting as Model for Contemporary Workspaces
In the heart of Stuttgart, the Vector IT-Campus stands as a testament to future-oriented building automation. This architectural marvel, not only impresses with its sleek design but also sets technological standards, thanks to the innovative solutions provided by GEZE GmbH.
With over 150 years of experience and a workforce of around 3,500 employees, GEZE GmbH is an internationally active family-owned company that specialises in developing solutions for doors, windows, and security systems. The company's headquarters, located in Leonberg since 1959, has been at the forefront of creating intelligent buildings.
At the Vector IT-Campus, GEZE GmbH has deployed its flagship product, the GEZE Connectivity Platform. This versatile system seamlessly integrates into existing building management technology or safety management systems, controlling individual components and connecting them to create a network of intelligent buildings.
The GEZE Connectivity Platform is used to network and centrally control all door and campus systems at the Vector IT-Campus. This intelligent interplay between doors, windows, and other trades such as heating, air conditioning, or lighting, increases comfort and safety while reducing energy consumption.
Energy efficiency is a central focus at the Vector IT-Campus. Windows can be automatically opened for nighttime ventilation and closed again, combined with heating and cooling systems to create climate-active facades that save costs and contribute to the building's sustainability.
The system also offers more security by precisely controlling access rights and reliably monitoring escape routes. All relevant data points, including access control, escape route safety, and ventilation, are bundled in a building management system and available to facility management in real-time.
The Building Management System at the Vector IT Campus in Stuttgart was implemented by the company Kieback & Peter. The system enhances user comfort by offering barrier-free doors, optimized air quality, and the option for centralised or decentralised control.
The Vector IT-Campus provides space for around 1,000 employees of the IT company Vector Informatik. This project serves as a successful example of GEZE GmbH's commitment to making buildings safer, more comfortable, and more energy-efficient.
