Revenue of Zepto surges over twice in Fiscal Year 25, securing financings at a valuation exceeding $5 billion

Zepto Pvt Ltd, the Indian fast grocery delivery startup, has secured a significant funding round, increasing its valuation to approximately $7 billion. The latest investment, which closed in July 2025, marks a 40% increase from its previous valuation of $5 billion in 2024 [1][3].

The funding round, which raised $450 million to $500 million, saw strong investor confidence, driven by Zepto's revenue surge and solid market position [3][1]. The Taparia Family Office and Mankind Pharma Family Office were among the participants in this round.

Prior to this round, Zepto's last known valuation was $5 billion during its 2024 funding event [1][3]. Some reports also reference investments at slightly varying valuations around $5.9 billion, possibly reflecting smaller transactions or internal rounds [4].

Zepto's revenue for FY25 jumped 150% to Rs 11,109.95 crore. However, the company reported a net loss of Rs 1,249 crore in FY24 [1]. Despite the net loss, Zepto managed to reduce its EBITDA and operating cash flow burn by 50% in the first three months of the year [1].

Zepto's annualized gross order value (GOV) was nearing $4 billion as of April. The startup competes with Swiggy Ltd and Eternal Ltd in the fast-growing Indian grocery delivery market.

In a statement, Aadit Palicha, Zepto's CEO, indicated that the company would reach EBITDA and operating cash flow break-even within a few months. He also stated that Zepto has a large net cash buffer still on its balance sheet [1].

The revised disclosure by Elcid values Zepto around Rs 51,369 crore or almost $5.9 billion, while the earlier disclosure by Elcid valued Zepto at Rs 51,369 crore or almost $5.9 billion [1].

Zepto's latest funding round was led by Motilal Oswal AMC last November, raising $350 million. The startup's total revenue increased to Rs 21,320 crore in FY24, and Swiggy's total revenue in FY25 rose to Rs 15,623 crore [1].

Despite the substantial growth in valuation, Zepto still faces challenges, including negative cash flow from operations. In FY24, Zepto was one of the startups with the second-highest negative cash flows, reporting a negative cash flow from operations of about Rs 1,131 crore [1].

As Zepto moves closer to its planned IPO, the latest funding round showcases substantial growth and strong market momentum. The increased valuation underscores investors' confidence in Zepto's ability to compete and thrive in the Indian grocery delivery market.
