Ripple's JoelKatz Steps Down as CTO, Jarosch Takes Lead
Ripple's Chief Technology Officer, David Schwartz (JoelKatz), has announced his departure from the role at the end of the year. However, he will continue to serve as a Ripple Board Member and CTO Emeritus. Dennis Quaid, Ripple's Senior Vice President of Engineering, is set to take leadership forward.
Schwartz, who has been with Ripple since its inception, praised the contributions of Ripple leaders and XRP Ledger developers. He plans to spend more time with family and continue XRPL coding and research outside of Ripple. Meanwhile, Dennis Quaid, currently serving as Senior Vice President of Engineering, is positioned to take the leadership forward. No public information suggests a new Chief Technology Officer will be appointed to replace Schwartz.
David Schwartz's departure from his CTO role at Ripple will not impact his involvement with the company entirely. He will continue to serve as a Ripple Board Member and CTO Emeritus. Dennis Quaid, with his current leadership role, is expected to guide Ripple's technological advancements moving forward.
