Sennheiser and Neumann Showcase Innovative Audio Solutions at IBC 2025

At this year's International Broadcasting Convention (IBC) in Amsterdam, the Sennheiser Group is set to exhibit a diverse range of audio solutions for professional media content creation and entertainment experiences. The event, taking place from September 11-15 at the RAI Amsterdam, will feature demonstrations of products from both Sennheiser and Neumann, a fellow audio technology company.

Sennheiser MKH 8018 Stereo Shotgun Microphone

A highlight of Sennheiser's showcase is the MKH 8018 stereo shotgun microphone, the latest addition to their MKH series of RF condenser microphones. This versatile microphone offers three switchable stereo modes, including MS stereo, making it suitable for a wide range of applications, from broadcasting to filmmaking. The MKH 8018 is climate-proof and rugged, making it ideal for use in diverse environments.

Neumann Microphones

Neumann will present a variety of microphones at the Sennheiser stand, including the BCM 104 broadcast microphone and capsule heads for wireless systems. The MCM Miniature Clip microphone will also be on display, showcasing Neumann's commitment to quality audio equipment.

Immersive Audio Experiences

Sennheiser is emphasizing its contributions to immersive audio experiences, aligning with its tradition of innovation in the audio industry. At the event, they will demonstrate SoundBase, a universal wireless audio management software, and the KU 100 binaural head, which is still the easiest way to produce stunningly realistic immersive audio after 34 years.

Additional Highlights

Visitors can expect to see demonstrations of the wideband Spectera wireless ecosystem and narrowband EW-DX systems, celebrating Sennheiser's 80th anniversary. The desktop audio interfaces Merging Anubis and Neumann MT 48 will be demonstrated, including recently added OSC control capabilities.

Ad hoc presentations of SoundBase will be available at stand 8D50 for visitors who cannot make the scheduled sessions. Visitors can also experience this technology embedded on a Merging ANUBIS device at the event.

Neumann will showcase its range of studio monitors in a dedicated area at Sennheiser's stand. They will also present a brand-new subwoofer with multichannel bass management and the AMBEO 2-Channel Spatial Audio live renderer, enabling real-time rendering of immersive content into a stereo-compatible AMBEO format without additional decoding or hardware.

Finally, visitors will be able to experience Neumann's new RIME plug-in, enabling immersive monitoring using NDH 20 and NDH 30 headphones. The Sennheiser showcase will also feature a blend of historical images and the latest audio technology.

While there is no mention of a "SoundBase Pro Audio App" among the products showcased by Sennheiser or Neumann, the IBC 2025 event promises to be an exciting showcase of innovation in the audio industry.
