Sequel for "Ready or Not" Officially Under Development
Ready for Another Dose of Chaos?
It's been over half a decade since the thrilling horror-comedy, Ready or Not, graced our screens. Starring Samara Weaving, directed by Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin (aka Radio Silence), it was a film many fondly remember. Now, it's time to rejoice, folks, as Ready or Not 2 is officially in the Works!
Our leading lady, Samara, will reprise her role, and Radio Silence will once again take the helm, directing a screenplay penned by Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murray, veterans from the original project. Though the plot remains shrouded in mystery, the idea of a sequel sends chills down our spines (in a good way, of course)!
Ready or Not introduced us to Grace, a newlywed who unwittingly stumbles into a blood-soaked game of Hide and Seek with her in-laws on her wedding night. According to centuries-old beliefs, whoever finds her must kill her to maintain the family's wealth. With her new family trying to dispatch her or turn on each other, Grace turns the tables, using her wits to survive and eventually wage a war of her own.
Ready or Not was a hit for Searchlight, earning $57.6 million worldwide on a modest $6 million budget, and making quite a splash in the home entertainment scene. The film elevated the profiles of its three central players: Radio Silence's horror prowess has continued with Scream sequels and the recent Abigail, while Samara Weaving has become a star in her own right. If the stars have finally aligned for another installment, then count us in!
Stay tuned for more updates on Ready or Not 2 as we get them.
