Shifting logistics complications to strategic advantages through ALCS's digital integration
In the face of numerous disruptions such as semiconductor shortages, geopolitical conflicts, pandemic aftershocks, and extreme weather events, the automotive industry is navigating challenging times. However, one solution that is proving to be a game-changer is Fracht's Automotive Logistics Control System (ALCS).
The cloud-based ALCS platform, designed to create seamless integration and eliminate friction from outbound logistics, has been adopted by over 750 car carriers who log in daily. Early adoption figures show that in 2023-2024, Fracht coordinated the transport of over 300,000 vehicles through ALCS.
The system offers marketplace integration with dealer sales systems, making it easier for OEMs and dealers to manage their logistics operations. It is integrated with over 100 GPS providers across 21 languages, providing real-time KPIs down to the VIN level for OEMs.
The ALCS network connects more than 2,000 companies, representing 18,000 trucks and 23,000 drivers. The system addresses the challenge of empty miles by optimising capacity across thousands of cars, pairing vehicle flows to cut backhauls.
ALCS injects automation and speed into processes, autonomously planning transport routes and schedules, dispatching digital job orders to carriers and drivers. It connects OEMs, dealers, carriers, and end customers on one platform, providing real-time visibility into vehicle locations, ETA updates, digital contracts, and delivery confirmations.
Logistics represents nearly 8% of a vehicle's retail price, making it an area ripe for cost efficiency improvements. Solutions for transforming logistics operations have become imperative, with success hinging on achieving the "best of three": speed, visibility, and cost efficiency.
Fracht's ALCS system offers same-day pickup as standard for dealers and OEMs. The company has transported over 1 million cars using the ALCS system, and over 1 million user sessions are reported annually on the platform.
Moreover, growing interest in value-added logistics (VAL) solutions, which use logistics to create value through integration, data, and service enhancements, is being met by ALCS. Users of the system report efficiency gains such as reduced administrative workload, faster job acceptance, and improved customer service.
The automotive industry is under pressure to meet rising expectations for sustainability and customer satisfaction. ALCS, with its focus on optimising capacity and reducing empty miles, is a step towards a more sustainable and efficient future for the industry. The system was expanded to encompass a wider dealer market across Europe in 2025, marking a significant milestone in its growth and impact.
