Let's Take a Bold Step with the New Sony WH-1000XM6
After a long,हुआ है वह स delivering a much-anticipated update to its top-notch line of wireless headphones, Sony finally announced the WH-1000XM6. Adrian Price-Hunt, Sony Europe's Head of Personal Entertainment Product Group, has high expectations for the headphones, asserting they are the best noise-cancelling products on the market, competing against big names like Bose and Bowers & Wilkins.
Since three years have passed since the last flagship, Sony worked hard to improve the performance of the new model.

A redesigned headband makes the XM6 more comfortable, slightly wider, and featuring a hinge mechanism made from stainless steel and plastic. Inside, fingerprint-resistant earcups house a newly developed 30mm 'soft edge' dome driver, which, when combined with the headphones' new processor, promises improved audio performance and the quality of active noise cancelling (ANC).
The XM6's new processor is called the HD Noise Cancelling Processor QN3. Sony skipped a generation of processors for the XM6, launching the XM5 with its QN1 chip. The new chip boasts an impressive seven times faster processing speed.
QN3 includes a 'look-ahead noise shaper' to improve the digital-to-analogue process by reducing distortion and enhancing dynamics. DSEE Extreme sound-enhancement engine is back from XM5 to help improve poor-quality digital audio files to near hi-res quality. Sony also took inspiration from its premium Walkman range for the XM6, integrating low phase noise crystal oscillator and gold-infused solder in certain parts of the circuitry for better timing, crosstalk, and interference reduction.
Naturally, some improvements were made to call quality. The XM6 includes six microphones per earcup, against the XM5's four, with three of the mics using beamforming AI for clear, detailed, noise-free calls. The XM6 features an adaptive NC optimiser, constantly adapting to changes in the environment and a 360 upmix for cinema, a ten-band equalizer, and a new Gaming EQ for better casual gaming experiences.
The XM6 supports LDAC, SBC, and AAC, high-res wireless certification, with the addition of Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast for superior connectivity. Battery life remains the same as XM5 at 30 hours per charge with ANC turned on, with a three-minute charge providing three hours of playback using a USB-PD charger. The headphones support multipoint for two devices.
The Sony WH-1000XM6 is available now in three finishes: Silver, Black, or Midnight Blue.
