On September 19, 2025, SpaceX successfully launched 24 Starlink internet satellites into low Earth orbit from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. This marked the 118th Falcon 9 liftoff of the year and the 10th launch and landing for booster B1088.

The Falcon 9 rocket, owned by SpaceX, carried the Starlink satellites to their destination at 12:31 p.m. EDT (1631 GMT; 9:31 a.m. local California time). The launch vehicle's first stage returned to Earth and landed on the drone ship "Of Course I Still Love You" in the Pacific Ocean.

The Starlink network, now consisting of nearly 8,400 active satellites, is the largest constellation ever assembled. These satellites are intended for internet service provision. The launch of these 24 satellites brings the total number of Starlink missions in 2025 to more than 70%, demonstrating SpaceX's commitment to expanding its internet service network.

In addition to the Starlink mission, today's launch also included NROL-126, Transporter-12, SPHEREx, and NROL-57. These missions underscore SpaceX's versatility in supporting a variety of space missions.

It's worth noting that SpaceX launched 24 Starlink internet satellites on the same date, September 19, 2021, marking a significant milestone in the company's Starlink programme.

The Starlink satellites are expected to be deployed in low Earth orbit approximately 62 minutes after liftoff. This deployment will further strengthen the Starlink network, providing reliable and high-speed internet services to more locations around the globe.

The successful launch and deployment of these satellites reaffirm SpaceX's position as a leader in the space industry and its commitment to advancing space technology for the betterment of humanity.
