Steam release postponement announced: Arrival of Dying Light: The Beast

In a surprise move, Techland's highly anticipated sequel, Dying Light: The Beast, has been launched a day earlier than announced, on September 18, 2025. The game, which offers over 18 hours of immersive gameplay, can be played solo or in co-op with up to four players.

The digital-only release of Dying Light: The Beast is due to age rating concerns, as the game bypasses the ungranted USK rating by not offering physical versions. This decision applies to all platforms, including PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S scheduled for release by the end of 2025.

Set in the drastically changed world of Castor Woods, the game follows the story of Kyle Crane, voiced by Roger Craig Smith. After escaping after 13 years in captivity, Kyle finds himself in a world sparsely populated but filled with zombies, various humans and groups, and a mysterious creature that is hunting everyone. Kyle's character has been enhanced with superhuman abilities due to the mixing of his DNA with that of the zombies.

The PC version of Dying Light: The Beast is available for purchase on Steam and Epic Games for 59.99 euros. The uncut version of the game is available on PC, while the PlayStation and Xbox versions do not allow 'dismemberment'.

For those who own the Dying Light 2 Ultimate Edition, the third part should be received for free. The console versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S are priced at 69.99 euros.

Despite the lack of physical versions, the game features a stunning valley setting with small villages, natural landmarks, and industrial facilities. The new system requirements for Dying Light: The Beast on Steam do not specify the resolution and frame rate they are intended for.

Dying Light: The Beast has gone through the regular IARC process, used for online games and apps in Germany. The game's release comes as a thrilling addition to the Dying Light series, promising an intense and action-packed experience for players.
