Student Project Presentation at Bundeswehr University Hamburg for Young Researchers' Conclusion

At Helmut-Schmidt University of the German Armed Forces in Hamburg, the national final of Jugend forscht commenced on May 29, 2025. A total of 167 talented young researchers in mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, and technology are showcasing 112 research projects, as announced by the association and university. These finalists triumphed at one of the 16 state competitions previously.

For the initial two days, the young researchers and jury members will engage in closed deliberations. However, interested parties can observe and learn about the research projects on Saturday.

Among the projects to be presented are an electric bike run by solar energy, a retrofittable drive for wheelchairs, software for improved breast cancer detection, and a method for producing diesel fuel via the Kolbe electrolysis. A MINT campus, equipped with the latest technologies from land, sea, air, and cyberspace, opens at the military university on Friday.

The award ceremony in the seven categories is scheduled for Sunday at Lufthansa Technik, with Federal President and Jugend-forscht patron Frank-Walter Steinmeier in attendance.

The 60th federal competition's motto is "Turn questions into answers," which is being overseen by Helmut-Schmidt University of the Armed Forces in the anniversary year. This year, 10,350 young participants submitted 5,664 projects.
