Studio B Enhancements Unveiled by Passionate Studios
Universal Studios Upgrades Studio B with SSL Duality Fuse Console
Memphis, TN - Universal Studios, a pioneer in American recording history, has upgraded its Studio B with a new 48-channel SSL Duality Fuse SuperAnalogue mixing console. This marks another significant step in the studio's continuous evolution.
Established in the 1960s, Universal Studios was the first facility in the American South to operate four-track recorders and utilize EMT reverbs. Over the years, it has remained at the forefront of technology, adopting 3M M56 16-track machines, Dolby A301 units, and the MCI 24-track tape machine among others.
The new Duality Fuse console in Studio B offers a 400-square-foot tracking space and a dedicated isolation booth, providing artists and producers with an acoustically optimized environment equipped with a large-format console for recording and mixing without compromise.
Mark Danger, Universal Studios' CEO, commented, "Artists and producers are increasingly comfortable working in their personal studios, but they seek a professional environment like ours for that final touch. The Duality Fuse console provides the flexibility and quality they need."
The console offers traditional SSL automation, dual SuperAnalogue and Variable Harmonic Drive mic pres, SSL dynamics processing on every channel, and extremely flexible routing options and insert points for outboard gear. It also features an integrated DAW control and allows seamless transfer of DAW automation onto the console, thanks to SSL's Delta Control plug-in.
Studio B's control room has been equipped with Dolby Atmos mixing and monitoring capabilities, ensuring the highest standards in surround sound mixing. The new setup in Studio B has been optimized for the needs of today's producers and engineers.
Over the past three years, Universal Studios has renovated all four studios at its historic facility. This latest upgrade further cements its position as a leading recording studio in the United States.
In a separate development, Aim Audio has debuted with studio microphones. However, this development is not directly related to Universal Studios.
