Florida Atlantic University and BrandStar Unveil Innovative Virtual Production Studio

Florida Atlantic University's School of Communication & Multimedia Studies has partnered with BrandStar, an integrated production and strategic marketing company, to establish a cutting-edge virtual production studio named BrandStar Studios @ Florida Atlantic.

BrandStar Studios @ Florida Atlantic boasts technology that connects physical cameras with virtual cameras within Unreal Engine, a powerful 3D graphics and gaming software. This unique setup allows for a seamless blend of real-world and virtual elements, revolutionising the production process.

The studio's offerings mirror those of a full-service advertising agency, with partnerships with Lifetime for six original television series and clients such as Amazon, Ford, Google, The Home Depot, Toyota, Walmart, and many others. Additionally, BrandStar provides advisory and training services, internship, and mentorship opportunities for FAU students.

The heart of the studio is an LED Volume Wall, custom-manufactured and integrated with necessary support technology. This wall, initially housing FAU's students in animation, film, gaming, and media, has the potential to expand to other departments in the future. The technology accommodates real scenic elements or props, offering a truly immersive and versatile production environment.

The partnership between FAU and BrandStar not only benefits higher education institutions but also employers, as it aids in the development of the next generation of professionals.
