Tech Journalist's IFA 2025 Trip: Essential Charging Gear
During a recent trip to Germany for IFA 2025, the author ensured they were well-equipped with essential charging gear. This included a Ugreen USB-C power adapter and an Anker power bank.
The author's primary power source was the 65-watt Ugreen retractable USB-C power block. This compact device features a USB-C port capable of delivering up to 60 watts and a USB-A port that can provide up to 22.5 watts when charging two devices simultaneously. The author used this adapter to charge multiple devices, including a MacBook Air, with minimal heat output thanks to its Gallium Nitride power transistors.
For flights, the author relied on the Anker 737 power bank. This device boasts a 24,000 mAh internal battery and two USB-C ports, each capable of delivering up to 140 watts. It also has a USB-A port that tops out at 18 watts. Currently, the Anker 737 is priced at $87.99 after a 20 percent discount from its MSRP of $109.99.
The author's gear also included a multi-outlet USB-C wall adapter, a portable 25,000 mAh battery, a thin MagSafe battery for an iPhone, and a Euro plug converter. The Euro plug adapter is a standardized connector type (Europlug, EN 50075, also known as Type C) used widely in Europe for low-power appliances.
The author's trip to Germany for IFA 2025 was made convenient with the right charging gear. The Ugreen USB-C power adapter and Anker power bank ensured devices stayed powered, while the Euro plug converter made it easy to adapt to European power sockets. Both the Ugreen adapter and Anker power bank are currently available at discounted prices.
