Tubi Introduces 'Productubity' Functions, Enabling Stealthy Streaming During Work Hours
Tubi, the free streaming service owned by Disney, has launched a new Chrome extension called Productubity. This innovative tool is designed to help modern multitaskers balance their deadlines with drama, by making it easier and more discreet to stream movies and TV shows while at work. The idea for Productubity was inspired by data from Tubi's proprietary study, The Stream 2025: Audience Insights Shaping Streaming, which was conducted within the United States by The Harris Poll on behalf of Tubi. The study revealed that nearly half (48%) of Gen Z workers admit to lying to their bosses about streaming while working, and an astonishing 84% of Gen Z workers report watching TV or movies while on the job. Productubity allows users to toggle from Tubi to a fictitious work screen with a single click, keeping their stream hidden from bosses and co-workers. Once installed, users can open Tubi in a Chrome tab and start streaming, with the ability to switch to a faux productivity article when a supervisor is nearby.
