VinFast Philippines, V-Green, and Green GSM Philippines solidify alliance with BDO Unibank to boost electronic vehicle adoption in the Philippines
In a significant move towards a greener future, several key players have joined forces to empower Filipinos with greater access to electric vehicles (EVs) and shape a smarter, cleaner, and more livable urban environment.
BDO Unibank, a leading universal bank in the Philippines, has partnered with VinFast Auto Philippines, V-Green Charging Station Development Philippines, and Green and Smart Mobility Philippines. This collaboration is aimed at supporting the broader adoption of electric vehicles and the development of green infrastructure in the country.
VinFast, a subsidiary of Vingroup JSC, one of Vietnam's largest conglomerates, is a pure-play electric vehicle manufacturer with a mission to make EVs accessible to everyone. Their product lineup includes a wide range of electric SUVs, e-scooters, and e-buses.
VinFast Auto Philippines has signed an MOU with BDO Unibank Inc., while V-Green Charging Station Development Philippines Inc. is a pioneer in EV charging infrastructure. V-Green offers a diverse portfolio of charging solutions, including home chargers and public AC/DC charging stations.
Metropolitan Bank and Trust Company (Metrobank) has also committed to this partnership, signing a memorandum of cooperation regarding EVs and green infrastructure in the Philippines. BDO Unibank's collaboration with these entities is intended to empower Filipinos with greater access to EVs and help shape a smarter, greener, and more livable urban future.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Duong, CEO of V-Green, emphasizes the importance of charging infrastructure for sustainable EV growth. He notes that a smart, convenient, and flexible EV charging ecosystem is crucial for the widespread adoption of electric vehicles.
Ms. Duong Thi Thu Trang, Deputy CEO of Global Sales of VinFast, views sustainable transportation as a commitment to future generations. She believes that this partnership will contribute significantly to the Philippines' transition towards a greener and more sustainable transportation system.
BDO, with its country's largest distribution network, boasting over 1,800 consolidated operating branches and more than 5,800 teller machines nationwide, will play a vital role in facilitating access to EVs and green infrastructure.
Green GSM Philippines, the Philippines' pioneering all-electric taxi fleet, powered exclusively by VinFast EVs, is another key player in this collaboration. Mr. Dao Quy Phi, CEO of Green GSM Philippines, aims to deliver cleaner, safer, and more transparent public transport. Green and Smart Mobility Philippines Inc., which operates the country's first all-electric taxi fleet, shares this vision.
VinFast is currently expanding its distribution and dealership network globally, focusing on key markets across North America, Europe, and Asia. This partnership with BDO Unibank, VinFast Auto Philippines, V-Green Charging Station Development Philippines, Green GSM Philippines, and Green and Smart Mobility Philippines Inc. is a significant step towards achieving this goal in the Philippines.
