Wordle Analysis

Ever since I joined forces with the Wordle Bot, I've been rocking my guessing game. By the way, you can join me right here.

For the initial guess, I went with SHIRE because it tickles my nerd bone with all things Middle Earth. It narrowed down my 2,315 options to 362 words. That cute little hobbit village left me with quite a few _RI_Es, making me wonder, "What the frick am I gonna guess for round two?" I settled for BEPAT, wearing those three most common C's on my sleeve (B, P, and T). TRIPE would've been a pretty good shout too, but oh well.

Competitive Wordle Scores

BOT and I both get two points today. My 1 for guessing in three, his 1 for guessing in three (yep, it's a tie), and with the 2XP multiplication, we end up with:

Erik: 11 points

Wordle Bot: 5 points

How to Get Competitive in Wordle

  • Guess in 1 = 3 points
  • Guess in 2 = 2 points
  • Guess in 3 = 1 point
  • Guess in 4 or 5 = 0 points
  • Guess in 6 or miss = -1 points

Keep track of your daily score or play it cool, day after day. Just remember that Fridays bring double points!

Wordle History

The word "tripe" comes from Old French, which essentially translates to "guts" or "entrails." It entered our glorious English tongue in the 14th century and meant that edible, somewhat questionable-looking plate of cow or beast stomach lining. It started slanging nonsense in the 18th century.
