World's Largest Pig Farmer Muyuan Joins Forces in Vietnam for High-Rise Farming Project

Muyuan Foodstuff Group, the world's largest pig farming enterprise, has joined hands with BAF Vietnam to build a state-of-the-art high-rise pig farming project in Tay Ninh province, Vietnam. The project, with an investment of VND12 trillion ($454.32 million), aims to modernize Vietnam's livestock industry and ensure a stable pork supply.

Founded in 1992 by Qin Yinglin, Muyuan has been at the forefront of pig farming, supplying 71.6 million pigs and slaughtering 12.52 million by 2024. The company's latest fifth-generation solutions will be applied in the Tay Ninh project, increasing land efficiency more than sixfold compared to conventional farms. The project will feature a five-story 'bio-secure island' design to prevent cross-infection and achieve a 99.9% sterilization rate.

The project, set to accommodate 64,000 sows, will produce 1.6 million market pigs annually. It will also include a feed plant with a capacity of 600,000 tons per year. BAF and Muyuan will jointly develop and operate this integrated high-rise pig farm and feed production plant. The project is expected to generate an annual revenue of VND10 trillion ($378.6 million).

The Tay Ninh project is a significant step towards modernizing Vietnam's livestock industry. With Muyuan's expertise and BAF's local knowledge, the project aims to ensure a stable pork supply and competitively priced food for Vietnam's consumers. The project is expected to contribute significantly to the country's agricultural sector and economy.
