Zambia's SMART initiative teams up with Axis Solutions and ManageEngine to enhance their digital services offerings.
In a significant step towards enhancing digital public service delivery, the SMART Zambia Institute, in collaboration with Axis Solutions and ManageEngine (India), hosted a workshop on August 19, 2025, in Lusaka, Zambia. The event aimed to explore new digital service management tools for improving public services in the country.
The focus of the workshop was on AI-backed Full Stack Observability (FSO) technology, a comprehensive approach that offers a real-time view of a network, from infrastructure to user-facing services. This technology, demonstrated by ManageEngine's Mr. Jothi Murugan during the workshop, could revolutionise the way government IT systems operate in Zambia.
ManageEngine, an Indian company providing enterprise IT management solutions, showcased how FSO technology can significantly improve digital public service delivery. By enabling real-time monitoring and correlation of infrastructure and application data supporting public services, teams can detect and respond proactively to system anomalies before users are impacted, minimise service interruptions, provide an integrated view that links technical issues to citizen experience and service outcomes, and maintain compliance and auditability for sensitive data and service-level performance.
Axis Solutions, another collaborator on the workshop, plays a crucial role in these advancements. Their involvement underscores the commitment to transforming digital experiences for citizens and government officials in Zambia.
The application of Full Stack Observability technology in Zambia's digital public service delivery system is expected to lead to more reliable, efficient service delivery. By strengthening infrastructure resilience and enhancing user satisfaction through faster incident management and improved system transparency, this technology is poised to redefine the digital landscape in the country.
The workshop was attended by key figures from SMART Zambia, including Mr. Munukayumbwa Lubasi, Director of Planning and Research, and Mr. Mulomba Hameja, Director of Digital Government Services. Their presence underscores the importance placed on digital transformation in Zambia's public sector.
In summary, Full Stack Observability offers a powerful framework to transform complex digital public service systems into transparent, robust, and easily manageable platforms—critical for Zambia’s digital government goals. This technology, when applied effectively, could create a more seamless digital experience for citizens and government officials in Zambia, contributing to improved service delivery and overall digital transformation.
